Who Am I?

Ralph J. Che is a Cameroonian fine artist. Ralph's painting journey took off in 2002 when he represented the University of Buea in the painting category at the University Festival of Arts and Culture (UNIFAC), and it was during this period while an amateur painter, that he decided to invest in his art.

Ralph is a contemporary surrealist who paints in an engaging style. Whether or not one is versed with the elusive language of visual art, his paintings communicate with the viewer as he purposefully recreates day to day life on canvas from realistic to figurative compositions.
''I take it as an opportunity to learn about a person, a thing or an experience. I set out to recreate the experience through play with art materials to composed a work of art...and it is a journey I relish.''

Ralph won a gold medal in painting at Cameroon's National Festival of Arts and Culture in December 2008. Apart from numerous group exhibitions in Cameroon, his work has also been exhibited in the UK, NigeriaAustralia, U.S.A., Turkey, and South Korea.

Ralph moved to the UK in 2009. He successfully completed a ''Live Painting'' course at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College of London in 2010. He has taken part in a number of group exhibitions in the UK.
